Notes:
Entering its third year, the Summer Hill program is focused on continuing its commitment to providing a positive incentives to young people to continue educational endeavors, and in many instances channel them back into educational pursuits. All participants are required to be enrolled in some type of educational program, such as high school, GED training, tech school, junior college, job training or conventional college. The program, during its 2-year existence, has seen four participants receive their high school dimplomas and ten sign athletic scholarships.

Summer Hill will add a high school aged team to the program this year. The team will compete in the Metro Atlanta Basketball Association (MABA), which is headquartered in Riverdale, Ga., by Cartersville native, Lindsey McDaniel. The Summer Hill program, along with Baseline Sports Management, will serve as the host for a newly formed MABA North Division that will consist of 4-6 teams from the NW Metro area. The league will cater to boys ages 14-18, who do not play for their high school teams, attend alternative schools, are in non-conventional educational atmospheres, or may be working on their GED. Last year, the MABA had a very successful inaugural season. The Summer Hill team will play a schedule of independent games, along with MABA divisional play.

The Summer Hill Post Grad team will again play a tough schedule of games against Junior Colleges from around the Southeast, including S.Georgia Tech, Truett-McConnell, Atlanta Metro and Wallace State (AL). Featured on the schedule this season, will be the returning Golden Star club from the Island of Martinique in the Virgin Islands. Last year, the Blue Devils post grad team enjoyed a 33-7 season, advancing to the quarter-finals of the GRPS State Tourney, where they lost to the eventual champs, Jonesboro South.
