Reynolds Explodes for 47 in Summer Hill win...

Reynolds gets two more at the line....              Reynolds caps scoring with dunk...

Cedartown, GA - The Summer Hill Blue Devils scored quick and often Saturday night on the road, making the Cedartown Boys & Girls Club their like home, in a 136-78 rout of the Cedartown Post Grad squad.

The Blue Devils jumped out to a double-digit lead early, before Cedartown cut it down eight after a flurry of three-pointers by Ivy Boozer. However, Summer Hill's stepped up its defense to trigger a huge run. When Mike Reynolds wasn't getting easy transition baskets, Stuart Mitchell was knocking down threes and Chris Jones was powering his way in the paint. The Devils carried an insurmountable 63-36 lead into the half.

The second half was no different in the abundance of scoring, but it came from the perimeter instead as the Devils shot 13 of 18 from beyond the arc, with Reynolds canning six of his own. DeMarlow Simmons went on a string, scoring eight consecutive points in one stretch.

But, it was Renolds who stole the show down the stretch, hitting four treys in a row at one point and scoring 31 of his 47 total points in the second half alone. As a team, the Devils shot 65.8% from the field (54/82), while hitting 19 of 31 three-point attempts, good for 61.3%. Defensively, Summer Hill held Cedartown to 39% from the field (33/84).

After a forfeit win over Fort McPherson, the Blue Devils now sit at 15-4 on the season and will be back in action next Sunday when Ware Prep (Atlanta, GA) comes to town for a 4:30pm tipoff at JH Morgan Gym.
