Cartersville Warriors transactions for 6/4/08...
The Cartersville Warriors pro basketball team, in an effort to put things on the right track after an unsuspected 0-3 start, have signed several new players.
Head Coach Bobby Rouse has brought in AJ Mastin, Cole Rose and Stanley Burrison.
Mastin, a 6'2" SG, who played at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is a superb perimeter shooter and will bolster the Warriors scoring options.
Rose, a versitile 6'6" guard-forward from Lee University, will provide great defense, hustle and another scoring option. He shot over 45% from beyond the arc in his career at Lee.
The 6'9" Burrison, no stranger to the Warriors organization, will re-join the club to provide more inside heighth. The long-armed Burrison can play the 3 , 4 or 5 positions on the floor. Burrison was a member of the Warriors squad that toured China this past April.
Mastin, Rose and Burrison are expected to be in uniform for the Warriors home opener against the Decatur Court Kings this Friday evening at 7:15pm.
To make room on the roster, the Warriors released Lamarr Farr, Antonio Simpson and Jimmy Baxter. Farr, a Wisconsin-native, had to return home for personal reasons, while Simpson left the team to pursue other options. Baxter, who had yet to play a game in a Warriors uniform, suffered a death in the family and has taken a leave.
The Cartersville Warriors are a division of The Human Race, Inc, a Georgia 501(c)3 Non-profit Organization, and are members of the World Basketball Association (WBA).
