Carter's 25 leads Truett-McConnell to 90-85 win over Denmark Tech...

FORMER CASS STAR, MIKAIEL CARTER, DRILLS 25 TO LEAD BEARS TO WIN...
  
   Denmark, SC - The Truett-McConnell College Bears played their second road game Thursday night at Denmark Tech (S.C.) and came home with an exciting win. The Bears took a 41 – 29 half time lead into the locker room and came out the second to see a different more energetic Denmark Tech team go on a 20 -9 run to start the second half. "I have never seen a tail of two different halves, like last night" Coach Baldwin said of the game. 
   Denmark continued their excellent shooting from the three-point arc and took a 16 point advantage with eight minutes to go, but The Bears would not go away. The Bears came back to tie the game with 2 minutes remaining. Torrio Cook hit four three-pointers in the last eight minutes of play to help this comeback. 
   The Bears hit some crucial late game free throws to take the lead and hold on 90 – 85. Former Cass High and Summer Hill Post Grad player Mikaiel Carter, led the way with a career-high 25 points, going 7 for 9 night from beyond the the arc. Torrio Cook followed with 15 points, while JaQuas Dobbs added 10 and Robert Murry and Duce Jackson each had 8 points. Duce and Robert both had 4 assist also. Marshez Truitt led the team with 10 rebounds and Shawn Davis had 8.
   "This game was one of the craziest games I have ever been apart of and I feel like we truly earned our win tonight" Shawn Davis said of the tough win.
    Truett moved to 3-1 on the season, will travel to Cartersville next Saturday night to battle the Summer Hill Blue Devils at JH Morgan Gym on Aubrey Street.
Notes: Through four games, Carter leads the Bears in scoring with a 12.3 average per game, while shooting 46% from the the 3-point line (12-26).
