FIRST BROADCAST OF A CTC ATHLETIC EVENT IN SCHOOL HISTORY...
February 3rd, 2010 - Acworth, GA - On Friday evening, the Chattahoochee Technical College Golden Eagles men's basketball team will make history when they host the West Georgia Tech Titans. The game will mark the first time a CTC athletic event has been broadcast over the airwaves.
On Wednesday afternoon, an agreement was reached with WBHF AM-1450, of Cartersville, to broadcast the contest. Station Manager, Matt Santini and Station Sports Director Kevin Carroll, will handle the play-by-play and color commentating duties. Both have extensive experience handling sports announcing for local high schools in the Cartersville and Bartow County area.
Listeners will have the benefit of tuning in through four different media outlets. The game audio will be aired on AM 1450 on the radio dial, on Comcast Cable Access TV Channel 23 in Bartow County, as well as through internet stream at Bartowheadlines.com. The Golden Eagles, 19-7 overall on the season, are currently atop the TCSGAA Conference Standings with a 3-0 record. CTC defeated West Georgia Tech last Saturday, after breaking open a close game for a 100-76 win that was closer than the score indicated. General admission for Friday's game will be $3.00. The men's game is set to tipoff at 8:00pm at JH Morgan Gym at 129 Aubrey Street in Cartersville. There will also be a preliminary women's intramural game at 6:00pm.
